Nik, a native from Switzerland, studied Piano Pedagogy with Prof. Alwin Pfister and Piano Performance with Prof. Hans Schicker at the the Zürich Conservatory for Music. He earned his diploma in 1998 and got certified as a piano teacher by SMPV, Switzerland's licensing board for music teachers the same year. Nik worked at JMP Community Music School near Zürich as a piano teacher before moving to the United States in 2001. He has been teaching private piano lessons in the Iowa City area since 2006.
Nik enjoys working with people of all ages (starting at age 5) and abilities. His goal is to instill a passion for music in all of his students. He welcomes students of all backgrounds. Nik is an active member of the Music Teacher's National Association, the Illinois Music Teacher's Association, the National Federation of Music Clubs, and the Iowa City Independent Piano Teachers. |
