The National Federation of Music Clubs Festival is a yearly held event where student perform in front of a judge to receive feedback on their performance. NFMC Festivals are designed to promote the study of music, to stimulate interest in American music, and to encourage each participant to reach a high standard of musical achievement. The festivals provide opportunity for both young and adult musicians to perform and receive an evaluation from independent qualified judges.
Participants do not compete against each other, but are rated on individual merits, with each performer receiving a certificate of participation indicating the rating received.
For most categories and levels, students are required to play two music pieces from memory. The choice of appropriate pieces is the teacher’s responsibility and governed by the official NFMC Festivals Bulletin.
Your exact performance time will be scheduled a couple weeks before the event. It will be at any time between 8:15 and 4:30, the appointment will be between 5 and 10 minutes.
